The Names Of All The Owls Are Found On The Picture Section, As Well As On This Page

SHERWOOD OWLS
Hiya people, my name is Graham Wilson.
Peppy and Rubble are a mating pair of Common English Barn Owls (tyto alba) During the middle ages these birds were known to be bringers of evil, this myth started when these nocturnal birds were originally known as "Church Owls" because they used to inhabit church yards and were known to swoop across grave yards and with their white underside and black eyes people often thought that they had seen ghosts.
Modern farming methods have brought barn owls into decline as the hedges that the birds hunt along have been removed to make bigger fields also the onset of chemicals in farming an rodenticides are killing off the prey basis leaving the birds with no food.

Amber & Twix are Bengal Eagle Owls (Bubo Bengalensis) and originate from the Bengal region of India these birds are very often used in captivity as hunting owls as they are an ideal size to deal with rabbits and having 200-250 pounds per square inch of killing power in their tallons which enables them do deal with their prey, these birds are one of the most common kept owls due to their size.

Cherokee & Cheyenne are a pair of Canadian Great Horned Owls (Bubo Virginaus) ( the names came from the way that the north American Indians believed that owls were believed to carry the souls of the dead up to the gods) This species of eagle owl are well known to be the most aggressive of all the owls

Shoni & Bella are a pair of European Eagle Owls (Bubo Bubo) this species is the largest of all the owls having a wingspan approximately 6 feet and having a killing power of up to 500pounds per square inch in their tallons, these birds have been known in the wild to  take deer fawns and foxes

It is only myth that owls are intelligent birds people only thought that they were intelligent because of their forward facing eyes which makes them look almost human, but when u consider the fact that inside an owls skull a third of the space is taken up by its eyes another third is taken up by its ears this does not leave much room for an intelligent brain, but u have to consider that owls do not hunt by intelligence the same way that falcons, hawks, and eagles do they hunt by stealth sneaking up on their prey and using the power in their tallons to kill, many people think that an owl can turn its head right around through 360 degrees this too is a myth as anything that can turn its head around that far would snap its spine an its head would fall off, owls are able to however turn tier heads through a 340 degree circle which enable the bird to "still hunt" so that the body of the bird can stay perfectly still while the birds head can follow its prey without having to scare it, owls also have the added ability of totally silent flight to enable their stealth.
